During the early pre-admission process, our reception staff will:
Alternatively, you may complete the pre-admission form online or download and fax the form. Visit our relevant hospital page on this website to obtain the contact information.
For administrative purposes the following items are required upon admission:
All hospital meals are provided in accordance with a patient’s health requirements and meals are determined in conjunction with a certified dietician.
Some Mediclinic hospitals are able to provide special meals e.g. kosher and halaal. If you would like to request a special meal please do so during your pre-admission or upon admission at the hospital. Special meals attract a surcharge as these meals are specially ordered in from one of our pre-approved local suppliers. Please enquire at the hospital about the surcharge.
For your convenience, some of our hospitals are able to accommodate patients in semi-private, private, VIP and luxury rooms. These room types are available on request for an additional fee and are based on availability at the time of admission.
COVID-19 Visiting Hours
Mediclinic is conscious of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, and in an effort to ensure that we are best managing the risk to our patients, staff and the community, the decision was made to temporarily withdraw visitor access. While we understand that visiting is important to our patients’ recovery, we believe that this is currently the most appropriate decision.
It is important to note that there will be exceptions to these visitor measures as detailed below:
Staying In Touch With Patients
We encourage you to contact patients via mobile phone; alternatively, phone the hospital and request to speak to him/her. Direct relatives will be updated on the condition of the patient by our staff. Please be assured that we will do our utmost to make patients feel as comfortable and safe as possible and to keep you in virtual contact with him/her to the best of our ability.
Providing Items For Patients
You are welcome to bring items such as clothes or snacks to patients. These items can be dropped off at the access control point at the hospital. Please mark bags clearly with the patient’s name and we will ensure the items are delivered to the intended recipient. You can also collect items that need to go home from the access control point. These will be in a labelled plastic bag. As an added precaution, please wipe these items down or wash with soap and water when you get home.
Mediclinic would like to emphasise that everyone within the healthcare sector is working together to fight the pandemic. We encourage communities to observe all measures put in place to limit the spread of the virus.
Please note that there may be changes to these general visiting hours at a locality level, and we advise you to visit the specific hospital page or contact the facility for further details.
